Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is described in the Mosby Medical Encyclopedia (1992 ed.) as “a passive, trance-like state that resembles normal sleep during which perception and memory are changed, resulting in increased responsiveness to suggestion.”
The unconscious mind makes up 97% of our thoughts, behaviors, and actions on a day to day basis. Ever driven from one place to another and cannot remember the trip? Do you have a habit that you can’t seem to control like biting your nails or obsessive over analyzing? All of these thoughts and actions are programs that are running in your unconscious mind. For this reason no matter how hard we try to consciously stop the habit, it never seems to work.
A Hypnotherapist acts as a guide letting the client move into a trance-like state, so that the unconscious program can be changed, moved, or learned from on a deeper level. These changes are often permanent and can be considered life changing. Hypnotherapy is becoming widely accepted and used in a variety of fields of medicine and therapy.
